The dentist pulls out a numbing needle to give the man a shot.
'No way! No needles. I hate needles' the patient said.
The dentist starts to hook up the nitrous oxide and the man objects.
'I can't do the gas thing The thought of having the gas mask on is Suffocating me!'
The dentist then asks the patient if he has any objection to taking a Pill.
'No objection,' the patient says. 'I'm fine with pills.'
The dentist then returns and says, 'Here's a Viagra tablet.'
The patient says, 'Wow! I didn't know Viagra worked as a pain killer!'
It doesn't' said the dentist, 'but it's going to give you something to hold on to when I pull your tooth.

19 of 20 countries in the Organization for Economics Cooperation and Development have national health plans that guarantee coverage for everyone. Most use some form of a national health service. Most have better health outcomes than the U.S. All have cheaper health care. Most have had such systems since the late 1940s. When it comes to health care insurance, the U.S. is the most backward, advanced industrial country on earth

9 Republicans are backing legislation requiring birth certificates for all Presidential candidates. They want this as the believe Obama is not a US citizen. Basically he’s a fake.
Unfortunately there are others in the same party who think the same way – but are too gutless to show how crazy they are.
Next they’ll be wanting the criteria altered to ensure the candidate be white, blue eyed. And to ensure they are from the loony right, also have an IQ less than 70!

DAD: Why do I use soap?
SARAH: Yes.
DAD: Because the soap grabs the dirt and lets the water wash it off.

Ben Schott has a few great little books of miscellany. He also recently penned a piece for the New York Times about Twitter. He compared it to telegraphy where there was a cost per word so code words were used to reduce complex sentences into single words for privacy, cost and brevity.
He suggested people could reprise these codes and start tweeting in code.
Some examples are below. Go to the New York Times for his article
